NYSE
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is an American stock exchange that is located at 11 Wall Street, Lower Manhattan, New York City, New York. It is the world's largest stock exchange by market capitalization.
The NYSE is owned by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Prior to the acquisition by ICE in 2012, the NYSE was part of NYSE Euronext (NYX), which was formed by the NYSE's 2007 merger with Euronext.
The NYSE's opening and closing bells mark the beginning and the end of each trading day which is on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The 'opening bell' is rung at 9:30 am ET to mark the start of the day's trading session. At 4 pm ET the 'closing bell' is rung and trading for the day stops
2018 marked a historical year for cannabis stocks when Canopy Growth Corporation (CGC) became the first legal-cannabis firm to trade on the New York Stock Exchange.
