Home Grow Laws in Nevada
Adults 21+ may grow cannabis at home for personal use.
Plant Limits
Overview
Nevada legalized recreational cannabis through Question 2 in November 2016, with retail sales starting in July 2017. Home cultivation is permitted for adults 21 and older, but with an important caveat: recreational home growing is only allowed if the grower lives more than 25 miles from the nearest licensed dispensary. This effectively limits legal recreational home cultivation to rural areas of the state.
Medical cannabis patients with a valid registry card may grow up to 12 plants regardless of their distance from a dispensary. For those who do qualify for recreational home growing, the limit is 6 plants per person. All cultivation must occur in an enclosed area with a lock, and the plants must not be visible from any public place.
