Gorilla Glue #4, now officially branded as GG4 or Original Glue after a trademark dispute, is a phenomenally potent hybrid that took the cannabis world by storm after its creation in 2013. Developed accidentally by breeders Joesy Whales and Lone Watty when their Chem's Sister plants were pollinated by a Sour Dubb male, the resulting seeds were crossed again with Chocolate Diesel to produce what would become one of the strongest strains ever tested. GG4 regularly tests above 25% THC, with some phenotypes pushing past 30%, and the resin production is so extraordinary that scissors become literally glued shut during trimming — hence the name. The aroma is a bold, pungent combination of sour earthiness, sharp pine, and diesel fuel with undertones of chocolate. The high is devastatingly potent: a rush of euphoria quickly gives way to an almost narcotic full-body relaxation that pins even experienced users to the couch. Fine motor skills diminish, eyelids grow heavy, and the world becomes a much more comfortable place. This makes GG4 an exceptional choice for severe pain management, insomnia, and chronic stress, but a poor selection for productivity or social engagements. Growing GG4 is moderately challenging — the enormous resin production means exceptional trichome coverage but also increased susceptibility to bud rot in humid conditions. Plants respond well to training techniques and produce impressive yields of incredibly dense, sticky buds.
